DETROIT — Today, Buick was recognized by J.D. Power for the vehicle quality of its 2022 models. Buick was the number one overall brand in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study, which measures problems customers experienced with new vehicles after three months in service.
While most automakers experienced more problems this year compared to 2021, Buick improved substantially, with the lowest number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership.
The Buick Encore GX also performed exceptionally well, ranking first in the highly competitive Small SUV segment.
“At Buick, the quality of our materials, world class manufacturing and customer-centric design are at the forefront of everything we do,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president, Buick and GMC. “Therefore, we’re very pleased, but not surprised, that Buick finished first in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study.”
General Motors ranked as the top corporation in this year’s study and received more segment awards (nine) than any other corporation.
